Calima Bakery

Walked in for the first time, looked around, nice lady behind counter described each pastry and when she mentioned sweetened cheese bread, I ordered 3. I hopped into my car (after paying of course) ate one while it was nice and hot and almost forgot that I need to save the others to share %-) Sleepy dog picture in case you didn’t smile from my review. Haha.

So simple, yet so good. This cozy restaurant does their savory dishes well and their baked goods even better. The portions are big and well worth your buck. The alfajores are a sweet surprise to take on the way out, leaving you with nothing but pleasant memories of the establishment.

I have been coming here for the last 5 years. I get the fried pork belly and the empanadas. Theirs is a cornflour dough that is a little different but they are very good. I was there 3 times this week. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are a good size for their meals.

Que ricura We always come for breaks fast to get the pandebonos (recently awarded the best bread in the world roscas, arepa de choclos, pan de queso and empanadas. but come early for the bakery’s.. by nighttime it’s all gone . I get the pollo empanizado and my girl gets the sancocho and bandeja paisas. In the spring and summers it’s great cause they’ve got outside seating. But very delicious— Colombian food and the staff has always been sweet and kind with us

After just trying out Calima Bakery for the first time today, I have found my go to spot for the best, delicious, authentic Colombian food. While I only tried their bakery items this time, I will be sure to try their kitchen menu next time, as the quality and taste is amazing. They have great pricing and portions are generous, would definitely recommend coming here, staff is friendly and helpful as well. Overall a 10/10 and would recommend. I got their pandebono, their Roscon con dulce de leche (it was huge) and they let me try one of their beef empanada (delicious, but just wished it was meatier, but the potato’s inside were nice and tender)

We were in the area, had breakfast at Calima. The lady name Elizabeth (tocaya ) who was helping us with our orders was so nice and friendly. The food was good. Calima bakery need to expand the place, it was packed and so crowded. This place has parking space.

This is my favorite Colombian bakery. I’ve been coming here for years. Their pan de bonos are one of the best I’ve ever had. I also like to order their breakfast platters with coffee. The staff is so nice and welcoming to my mom and I whenever we come.

Great little spot I always used to go to all the time for their pan con queso (bread with cheese) and alfajores (a South American cookie with caramel and powdered sugar on top). Would recommend this place for those pastries alone. Their food is also very fairly priced for what you get. Got a plate with steak, rice and plantains ($11.75) and a mango drink ($3.75). Filled me up, the meat was high quality and a good portion, fulfilled all my expectations along with the rice and plantains. I checked their menu for their pastries/breads and they range from as little as $1 to $4 so really budget friendly for sweets. They've updated their interior and it looks modernized compared how it used to look, gives a cafe kinda vibe, which is a good thing. Staff is very friendly, made sure we had everything we ordered. I will definitely be back here to give their guava and cream cheese with cream cheese pastry a try as well as a guava drink. I also used to order sandwhiches even though they aren't officially on the menu but need to confirm if this is still possible and will order some with a side of fries to try it out. Will update my review with my thoughts on those once I make another visit, which will be very soon. Update: Went back again ordered a sandwhich and confirm despite it not being on the menu, they do make them. I got a steak sandwich with lettuce, tomato, egg and cheese, along with a guava drink and fries for only $12.50. Not only was it tasty but it beats other local places on this kind of combo in terms of price. I also got 2 whole guava roscóns (a bread with guava filling) for $3.50 each! That also hit the spot. The only thing that didn't really hit this time was the fruit drink, had a weak guava taste but I do like that they don't make their drinks overly sweet, but I'll stick to mango next time as that had a more stronger taste of the fruit. I also had mine made with water, so it's possible it tastes stronger if you have them make it with milk instead (they ask if you want the drink with water or milk). Overall I recommend this place, good hidden gem.
